About the building

Living at Ilikai

The Ilikai opened in 1964, developed by Chinn Ho and designed by architect John Graham Jr., and is widely recognized from the opening credits of the original Hawaii Five-O. The Y-shaped tower has more than 1,000 units, most of them one-bedroom units of about 500 square feet (many opened up into studios), plus two-bedroom units of about 1,000 square feet and penthouses on the top floor. The lobby, retail level, porte cochere and pool deck were renovated in 2014, and a second pool was added by 2015. A hotel program, Ilikai Hotel & Luxury Suites, operates part of the building.

The building faces the Ala Wai Harbor at the entrance to Waikiki, next to Hilton Hawaiian Village, with direct access to the beach. Ala Moana Center and Ala Moana Beach Park are nearby.
